Proactive Care for a Healthier, Longer Life
Preventative care is the cornerstone of veterinary medicine. Rather than waiting for your pet to become ill, a solid preventative care plan keeps your dog or cat healthy through regular exams, appropriate vaccinations, parasite prevention, and the early detection of potential health issues. At Countryside Veterinary Hospital, we believe that prevention is always easier and more cost-effective than treating advanced disease. A consistent preventative care routine protects your pet's health and can add years to their life.
When you bring your pet to us for preventative care, you're making an investment in their long-term wellbeing. We take time to understand your pet's individual needs, lifestyle, and risk factors so we can create a health plan that works for your family.

Protecting Your Pet's Health Through Dental Care
Many people don't realize how important dental health is for their pets' overall wellbeing. Dental disease is one of the most common conditions we see in dogs and cats, and it can lead to pain, tooth loss, and even systemic infections if left untreated. Many pets develop dental disease by age three, which is why preventative dental care should start early.
During wellness exams, we thoroughly evaluate your pet's teeth and gums. We can recommend professional cleaning when needed and provide guidance on at-home dental care. Depending on your pet's individual needs, we may recommend tooth brushing, dental treats, or prescription dental diets. For pets with existing dental disease, we offer professional cleaning and extractions when necessary to keep them comfortable and healthy.
Permanent Identification for Added Peace of Mind
While we hope your pet never gets lost, microchipping provides permanent identification if they do. A microchip is a small device implanted under your pet's skin that contains a unique identification number. If your pet is found and taken to a veterinary clinic or animal shelter, they can scan the microchip and contact you right away.
We can implant a microchip during a quick office visit. Once implanted, we register the chip with national databases so your information is available if your pet needs to be identified. Microchipping gives you peace of mind knowing that your pet has a permanent form of identification that can never be lost or damaged like a collar and tag.
Preventative Care Throughout Your Pet's Life
Puppies and kittens require a series of vaccinations and deworming treatments during their first months of life, along with early socialization and training guidance. As your pet grows into adulthood, consistent annual wellness exams help catch any developing health issues. We also take breed-specific health concerns into account when developing your pet's preventative care plan.
Preventative care is one of the best investments you can make in your pet's long-term health and happiness. We're here to help you keep your dog or cat healthy at every life stage.
